| Reverse description | Titus seated right on a curule chair, shown togate in a formal civic pose befitting his role as heir and magistrate. His feet rest upon a low footstool, while he holds an upright sceptre in his right hand and an olive branch in his left, emblems of authority and peace respectively. The reverse legend PONTIF TRI POT arcs around the figure, referencing his pontifical and tribunician titles. The composition follows the standard Flavian seated-figure reverse type employed during the joint reign with Vespasian. The workmanship is consistent with the Rome mint production of AD 73. |
