Obverse description Laureate head of Titus facing right, depicted as a young prince with finely rendered facial features in the Flavian portrait style. The effigy is accompanied by the circumferential legend T CAESAR IMP VESPASIAN running around the periphery of the flan. The bust is bare-shouldered, consistent with standard Flavian denarius portraiture of this period. The die work shows competent engraving typical of the Rome mint under Vespasian, though this example exhibits considerable wear and a somewhat irregular flan.
