Obverse description Helmeted, bearded bust of Mars facing right, with drapery at the shoulder. The helmet features a prominent crest with a flowing plume extending to the left. The legend MARS VLTOR is inscribed in the field around the bust, divided to either side. The portrait is rendered in a bold, high-relief style characteristic of late Julio-Claudian and Year of the Four Emperors coinage, with strong facial features and confident die-cutting.
