Obverse description Diademed head of Fortuna facing right, her hair elaborately dressed and bound with a jewelled diadem, with flowing locks descending behind the neck. The goddess is depicted in fine late-Republican style with delicate facial features. The legend FORT P•R (Fortuna Populi Romani — Fortune of the Roman People) is divided across the field, with FORT before the face and P•R behind the head. The flan is of typical irregular hammered fabric for the period.
