Obverse description Jugate busts right of Honos, laureate, and Virtus, helmeted and draped, their portraits rendered in the Republican style with fine engraving characteristic of the late serrate denarius series. The legend HO VIRT KALENI appears in the fields flanking the busts, with the letters RT ligatured, identifying the deities and attributing the issue to moneyer Quintus Fufius Calenus. A border of dots frames the entire design.
