| Opis rewersu | The abbreviated senatorial legend S P Q R is inscribed centrally within a prominent oak-wreath (corona civica), the leaves and acorns of which are rendered in detailed relief encircling the entire field. The oak-wreath carries strong Augustan symbolic resonance, evoking the civic crown awarded for saving the lives of Roman citizens. No additional figural imagery appears; the design relies entirely on the authority of the legend and the symbolic weight of the wreath. The hammered flan shows characteristic surface irregularities and edge scalloping consistent with the civil war coinage of AD 68–69. |
