| Beschrijving voorzijde | Draped and laureate bust of Salus, the goddess of public health and welfare, facing right, rendered in fine hammered relief characteristic of the late Julio-Claudian to early Flavian period. The hair is elaborately dressed and crowned with a laurel wreath, while the drapery falls loosely over the shoulder. The circumferential legend SALVS PVBLIC runs around the field, partially visible at left and right. The flan shows the characteristic irregularity of hand-struck Roman coinage of the civil war period. |
