| 裏面の説明 | Two togate male figures, identified as the quaestors Q. Servilius Caepio and L. Calpurnius Piso Caesoninus, are seated side by side on a subsellium (low magistrates' bench), facing slightly inward. A grain ear (corn ear) appears in both the left and right fields, alluding to their role in administering the frumentary corn law (Lex Servilia Caepioni) under senatorial authority. The legend AD FRV EMV EX S C, abbreviated from ad frumentum emundum ex senatus consulto, records that the coin was struck to fund grain purchases by decree of the Senate. The reverse is bordered by a ring of dots consistent with Republican hammered coinage of this period. |

This issue was struck by two moneyers whose families would become deeply entangled in the political catastrophes of the following decade. The gens Servilia and gens Calpurnia were both prominent senatorial families navigating the turbulent aftermath of the Gracchan reforms, and 100 BC itself was the year of Saturninus and Glaucia — when the Senate issued its emergency decree, the senatus consultum ultimum, and Gaius Marius was compelled to suppress his own political allies by force.
RRC 330/1 is well documented as a single-officina issue with no known subvarieties of consequence.
