背面描述 A tall, beaded grain ear with prominent awns depicted centrally in the field, enclosed within a laurel wreath tied at the base. Scattered Neo-Punic characters appear in the field to either side of the grain ear, representing the regnal year. The wreath border is formed of delicate olive or laurel leaves arranged symmetrically around the central motif.

附加信息

Ptolemy of Mauretania was the last client king of his dynasty — a grandson of Antony and Cleopatra — and his coinage reflects a reign that ended abruptly when Caligula had him executed in Rome around 40 AD, reportedly over a purple cloak that outshone the emperor's own. These denarii from 35–37 AD were struck while Ptolemy still enjoyed imperial favor under Tiberius, making them among the final issues before the kingdom's absorption into the Roman provincial system.

The CNNM#491bis reference marks this as a variant within an already scarce type.
