Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Ptolemy of Mauretania facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with elaborately curled hair secured by a royal diadem. The effigy is depicted with a youthful countenance and draped paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The Latin legend REX PTOLE is distributed around the periphery of the field, partially visible due to the irregular flan. The entire design is enclosed within a border of large, evenly spaced beads.
