正面描述 Diademed and draped bust of Diana facing right, with a bow and quiver visible over her shoulder, rendered in the crisp, high-relief style characteristic of late Roman Republican coinage. The goddess is depicted with finely engraved hair secured by a diadem, conveying both divine authority and artistic refinement. The legend ROMA appears in the lower field or exergue beneath the bust, identifying the issuing authority. The overall composition is well-centered, with the portrait dominating the obverse field in a manner typical of the moneyer series of this period.

附加信息

Aulus Postumius Albinus issued this denarius almost certainly as moneyer, the "S•F" in the legend standing for Spurii filius — son of Spurius — a deliberate epigraphic flourish distinguishing him within a gens that had produced consuls, censors, and a dictator stretching back to the earliest Republic. The Postumii were old money, and the family knew it.

RRC 335/9 places this issue among the last decade before the Social War upended Roman moneying practices entirely. Crawford dates the series tightly to the late 90s BC, when mint output was climbing to meet the financial demands of a republic increasingly strained by its Italian allies.
