Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Pescennius Niger facing right, rendered in the Roman imperial portrait tradition. The emperor's effigy is depicted with characteristic layered drapery over the left shoulder. The encircling obverse legend reads IMP CAES C PESCEN NIGER IVSTI A, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The coin exhibits a pronounced perforation (mount hole) to the right of the bust, indicating post-antique use as a pendant or amulet. The strike is somewhat weak with areas of flat relief consistent with the irregular flan typical of the Antioch mint under this usurper.
