附加信息	Pescennius Niger's claim to the purple lasted less than two years. Proclaimed by his Syrian legions in 193 AD following the murder of Pertinax, he controlled the eastern provinces but was decisively defeated by Septimius Severus at the Battle of Issus in 194 AD — struck down and beheaded shortly after while fleeing toward Parthia. His coinage was struck at Antioch, the only mint under his control, which accounts for the relatively limited number of surviving types and the rarity of individual issues across the series.
