Beschrijving voorzijde Laureate head of Emperor Nerva facing right, rendered in the realistic portraiture style characteristic of late 1st-century Roman imperial coinage. The elderly emperor's features are rendered with fine detail, including pronounced facial lines and a wreath of laurel leaves crowning the head. The encircling Latin legend runs clockwise from the lower left through the upper field. The flan is slightly irregular in shape, as is typical of hand-struck Roman denarii of this period.

Opschrift voorzijde IMP NERVA CAES AVG GERM P M TR P II
(Translation: Imperator Nerva Caesar Augustus, Germanicus, Pontifex Maximus, Tribunicia Potestate Secunda. Supreme commander (Imperator) Nerva, Caesar, emperor (Augustus), conqueror of the Germans, high priest, holder of tribunician power for the second time.)
Beschrijving keerzijde Two right hands clasped in a handshake (dextrarum iunctio), rendered in bold relief at the centre of the field, with drapery visible at the wrists. This motif symbolises the concordia between the emperor and the Roman people or the legions, a recurrent theme on Nerva's coinage reflecting his conciliatory reign. The abbreviated Latin legend encircles the type, distributed to the left and right of the central device. The plain field and minimal ornamentation are consistent with the austere style of Nerva's denarii.
