In her extended right hand she holds a small figure of Victory, while her left hand grasps a parazonium, the short military sword emblematic of imperial power. The composition is bold and hieratic, occupying the central field of the flan in a style consistent with the official Neronian denarius series. The reverse legend ROMA appears in the field, identifying the divine personification and serving as an assertion of the eternal city's sovereignty. |
