| 正面铭文 | NERI•Q•VRB (Translation: [Gnaeus] Nerius, Urban Quaestor) |
| 背面描述 | Central type depicts a seated figure, identified as Juno Sospita, facing right, enthroned between two ornate curule chairs (sellae curules) suspended by chains from above, each hung with weighted pendants. Between the chairs rises a single ear of grain flanked by a caduceus or plant stem rising from below, symbolising consular and civic authority. The abbreviated names of the two consuls of 49 BC, L. Cornelius Lentulus Crus and C. Claudius Marcellus, are inscribed vertically to the left (L•LENT) and right (C•MAR) of the central type respectively, with COS inscribed horizontally in the lower field, attesting their joint consulship. The composition is densely packed and heraldic in character, typical of late Republican emergency coinage issued under the authority of the Optimate senate. |
