Obverse description Bare head of Mark Antony facing right, rendered in bold relief with strongly characterised features including a prominent nose, full lips, and short wavy hair. The portrait is encircled by a beaded border, with the Latin legend reading around the periphery from left to right. The effigy occupies the majority of the flan, typical of the assertive portraiture associated with late Republican military coinage struck at a moving mint in the service of Antony's eastern campaigns.

Obverse lettering ANTON•AVG•IMP•III•COS•DES•III•III•V•R•P•C P•
(Translation: Mark Antony, Augur, Emperor for the Third time, Named Consul for the Third time, Triumvirate for the Restoration of the Government)
Reverse description Plain field bearing a two-line Latin inscription in large, bold characters occupying the centre of the flan: ANTONIVS on the upper line and AVG•IMP•III on the lower line. The legends are enclosed within a partial beaded border visible at the upper and right periphery. The reverse is deliberately stark and epigraphic in conception, with no figurative imagery, emphasising Antony's titles and authority in a manner characteristic of propaganda coinage issued from his mobile military mint.
