| Beschrijving keerzijde | A tripod, emblematic of the Sibylline oracles, surmounted by an amphora and flanked on either side by a star, the whole composition enclosed within an ornamental torque — a direct allusion to the gens Manlia and the cognomen Torquatus. The moneyer's name and title appear in two separate portions of the legend: descending in the left field and ascending in the right field. The torque border serves both as a heraldic device and a compositional frame, giving the reverse a distinctive and symbolically layered character. |
