Obverse description Laureate and wreathed head of Julius Caesar facing right, rendered with fine portraiture detail including a prominent nose, thin lips, and lightly bearded chin characteristic of late Republican coinage. The wreath, composed of individual berries or pellets, crowns the elaborately rendered hair. The encircling legend CAESAR•DICT•QVART — denoting Caesar as Dictator for the fourth time — is distributed around the effigy, reading from upper right to lower left. The field is plain and the coin is enclosed by a border of dots.
