Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Venus facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed and secured beneath a jewelled diadem, with a long curl falling behind the neck. She wears a beaded necklace and her drapery is visible at the truncation. A small figure of Cupid appears at her left shoulder. The field is plain and the coin is bordered by a beaded inner border near the rim, characteristic of the late Republican hammered style.
