| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare diademed head of Juba II facing right, depicted in the Hellenistic royal portrait tradition with curling hair and a plain diadem across the brow. The effigy is rendered in moderately high relief with naturalistic facial features. The Latin legend REX IVBA is distributed in the field to either side of the portrait, identifying the issuer as king. The flan is irregularly shaped, as typical of hammered silver coinage of this period and region. |
