| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central type depicts an upright Herculean club, prominently displayed at centre, draped with the lion skin whose paws hang at the sides. To the right stands an unstrung bow, and to the left an arrow pointing upward alongside the regnal year numeral XXXXII (year 42 of Juba II's reign, corresponding to 17 AD). The legend R(EX) appears at upper left. The composition is enclosed within a beaded border and the entire design alludes to the Heraklean mythology embraced by the Mauretanian royal house. |
