Obverse description Laureate and diademed head of Juba II facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic portrait style with carefully detailed curling hair beneath the laurel wreath. A long ribbon or taenia extends behind the neck. The legend REX IVBA arcs around the right field, proclaiming his royal title in Latin characters. The portrait exhibits the idealized classicizing convention typical of Mauretanian royal coinage under Juba II's philhellenic influence.

Reverse description Diademed and draped bust of Cleopatra Selene facing left, her hair elaborately waved and tied at the back with a circular ornament, with a long ribbon descending behind. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΙΣΣΑ ΚΛΕΟΠΑΤΡΑ encircles the portrait, identifying her as Queen Cleopatra. The effigy is rendered in the same refined Hellenistic portrait tradition as the obverse, befitting her dual Ptolemaic and Mauretanian royal status. A dotted border frames the design.
