| Aanvullende informatie |
This denarius falls within the chaotic twelve-month stretch known as the Year of the Four Emperors, when Galba, Otho, and Vitellius each held power briefly before Vespasian's forces prevailed. The IMP X acclamation helps narrow the issue to a specific window of Claudius's reign — the tenth imperatorial salutation dating to around 43–44 AD following the British campaign — but the coin's physical production almost certainly occurred under the administrative disruption that preceded Nero's fall in June 68.
RIC I 96 places this among the Spanish mint output, likely Tarraco, where the rebellious governor Galba was striking heavily to pay his legions.
