| Obverse description | Veiled and draped bust of Vesta facing right, rendered in fine high relief with strands of hair visible beneath the veil falling along the neck. The goddess is portrayed with characteristic Roman idealism, her features serene and classically proportioned. The legend S C appears in the field to the left of the bust, referencing the senatorial authority under which this restitution issue was struck. The flan shows the slightly irregular edge typical of hand-struck Roman silver coinage of the Trajanic period. |
