Obverse description Veiled and draped bust of Vesta facing right, her hair neatly arranged beneath a long veil that falls over her shoulders. She holds a patera in her right hand and a sceptre in her left, attributes befitting the goddess of the hearth and Roman state religion. The bust is rendered in a confident, high-relief hammered style characteristic of the Year of the Four Emperors coinage. The encircling legend reads VESTA P R QVIRITIVM, distributed around the periphery of the flan.
