Obverse description Laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in a bold Celtic interpretive style derived from Roman republican prototypes. The hair is depicted with sweeping diagonal engraved lines beneath the laurel wreath, and the facial features are stylized with a prominent nose and large eye. The legend VOV appears to the left of the portrait in the field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
