| Beschrijving keerzijde | A desultor — a Roman-derived equestrian acrobat — depicted leaping over or riding a biga (two-horse chariot) moving to the left, rendered in a vigorously abstracted Celtic style. The horses are shown in dynamic motion with limbs splayed, their forms energetically stylized in the La Tène manner. The rider figure above the biga appears schematic, with a latticed or grid-patterned shield or torso element visible in the upper field. Pellets and geometric ornaments are scattered in the field, serving as decorative fill elements typical of the Hungarian Celtic coinage group. The composition derives ultimately from Roman Republican denarius prototypes but has been thoroughly reinterpreted through Celtic artistic conventions. |
