| Obverse description | Highly stylized Celtic interpretation of the helmeted head of Roma facing right, rendered in the characteristic abstracted La Tène artistic tradition. The facial features are reduced to schematic elements, with the helmet crest dissolving into flowing, curvilinear forms. The retrograde legend ϽOT (TOC retrograde) appears in the left field behind the effigy, derived from the Roman Republican prototype. The overall composition reflects the Celtic die-cutter's translation of classical imagery into native decorative vocabulary. |
