| Beschrijving keerzijde | A wild boar charging to the right is depicted in high relief, its bristled back and muscular form rendered with considerable naturalistic detail. Beneath the boar, a hunting hound is shown prostrate, having been gored or overcome in the hunt. The inscription C•HOSIDI•C•F is incised in the lower exergual field in clear Latin capitals, identifying the moneyer as Gaius Hosidius, son of Gaius. The scene alludes to the hunting prowess associated with the gens Hosidia and is framed by a dentilated border. |
