| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate bust of the Emperor Hadrian facing right, with short curled hair and a neatly trimmed beard rendered in the Hellenistic style characteristic of his portraiture. The truncation of the neck is visible at the lower field. The circumferential Latin legend reads HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The coin is struck on an irregular, somewhat clipped flan typical of mid-Hadrianic silver coinage, with a beaded border partially visible. |
