| Obverse lettering | IMP CAES TRAIAN HADRIAN OPT AVG GER DAC (Translation: Imperator, Caesar, Traianus Hadrianus Optimus Augustus, Germanicus, Dacicus. Supreme commander (Imperator), Caesar, Trajan, Hadrian, the best emperor (Augustus), conqueror of the Germans, conqueror of the Dacians.) |
| Reverse description | The personification of Concordia seated left upon a high-backed throne, her figure draped in flowing robes rendered with fine linear detail. In her extended right hand she holds a patera, while her left arm rests upon a small figure of Spes (Hope); beneath the throne, a cornucopia is visible as an additional symbol of abundance and harmony. The reverse legend, distributed across two lines and the field, references Hadrian's titles and the allegorical theme of concord, befitting a coin issued at the outset of his reign to emphasize dynastic legitimacy and civic harmony. |
