| Beschrijving keerzijde | The personification of Aeternitas stands facing, her head turned to the left, rendered as a draped female figure in classical Roman style. Her arms are outstretched, with each hand elevating a small radiate bust: that of Sol (the Sun) in her right hand and Luna (the Moon) in her left, symbolising the eternal, cyclical nature of time under imperial rule. The legend is disposed around the field, with AETER and AVG flanking the figure horizontally at mid-height, and P M TR P COS III arching around the upper and lower periphery. The composition is a relatively rare reverse type within the Hadrianic series, closely associated with the issues of 119–120 AD as catalogued in RIC II.3. |
