| Opschrift voorzijde | HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P (Translation: Hadrianus Augustus, Consul Tertium, Pater Patriae. Hadrian, emperor (Augustus), consul for the third time, father of the nation.) |
| Beschrijving keerzijde | The goddess Fortuna is depicted seated left on a high-backed throne or chair, her draped figure rendered in classical Roman style. In her extended right hand she holds a rudder resting on a globe, symbolising the guidance of fate, while her left arm cradles a cornucopia, emblem of abundance and prosperity. The reverse legend FORTVNAE REDVCI is distributed in the field to either side of the seated deity, invoking Fortune's safe return. The type alludes to Hadrian's return from one of his provincial tours and is closely paralleled by the RIC II.3 1408 reference. |
