| 背面描述 | A complex allegorical composition in which two personifications of Spanish cities (Hispania) are depicted flanking a Pompeian soldier. The figure at left stands facing right, wearing a turreted crown symbolising her civic status, and holds a caduceus in her left hand while extending her right hand to clasp that of the soldier in a gesture of alliance (dextrarum iunctio). The soldier stands facing, armed and in military dress. To the right, a second turreted female personification walks leftward, holding a military trophy over her left shoulder and reaching forward with her right hand to crown the soldier. The legend M•MINAT SABIN PR•Q arcs around the field, identifying the issuing magistrate Marcus Minatius Sabinus as proquaestor. A border of dots frames the entire composition. |
