| Obverse description | Bare-headed, bearded bust of Vulcan facing right, wearing the characteristic round pileus (skullcap) of the god, rendered in a vigorous late Julio-Claudian style. The portrait is boldly modelled with deeply cut curled beard and hair, the drapery visible at the truncation. The encircling Latin legend reads VOLKANVS VLTOR, distributed around the periphery of the flan. |
