| Beschrijving voorzijde | Emperor Galba depicted in military dress as an equestrian figure, galloping to the right, his right arm extended and levelling a javelin in a commanding martial pose. The horse is rendered in dynamic motion with forelegs raised, conveying imperial authority and military prowess. The emperor's head is bare, consistent with the portraiture conventions of the Galban coinage struck at the Tres Galliae mint. The encircling Latin legend SER GALBA IMP AVG runs around the periphery of the flan, partially visible on this irregularly shaped hammered flan. The overall style reflects the provincial Gallic workshop tradition, somewhat cruder than contemporary Roman mint issues. |
