正面描述 Bare-necked, laureate bust of Emperor Galba facing right, with a globe positioned at the truncation of the neck, rendered in the realistic portraiture style typical of the Julio-Claudian and early Flavian transition period. The emperor's features are depicted with characteristic aged realism, including pronounced cheekbones and a strong jaw. The encircling Latin legend reads SER GALBA IMP AVG, distributed around the periphery of the field. A beaded border frames the entire design.

附加信息

Galba's ROMA RENASCENS ("Rome reborn") coinage was politically loaded from the start — the slogan was a direct repudiation of Nero's regime, minted during the seven months Galba held power before his murder in the Roman Forum in January 69 AD. His was the first reign of the Year of the Four Emperors, and these coins were being struck even as Otho's conspiracy was already taking shape.

RIC I 95 is assigned to the Rome mint, though Galba's earliest denarii were struck in Spain and Gaul before he reached the capital.
