Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Galba facing right, rendered in the austere, aged portraiture characteristic of his brief reign. The facial features display the elderly emperor's prominent jaw and strong profile. The surrounding legend is disposed circularly around the obverse field, partially visible on this struck example. The flan is slightly irregular, as is typical of hand-struck silver coinage of the period.

Reverse description The personification of Roma depicted standing left, helmeted and clad in military dress, holding a statuette of Victory on a globe in her extended right hand and an eagle-tipped sceptre in her left. The design reflects Galba's propagandistic message of imperial renewal and the restoration of Rome's military glory. The reverse legend ROMA RENASC is disposed in the field around the central figure, referencing the ideological theme of Rome reborn under the new emperor.
