Obverse description Bare-headed, laureate bust of Emperor Galba facing left, rendered in high relief with strongly naturalistic portraiture characteristic of late Julio-Claudian and early Flavian die-cutting. The emperor's aged features — prominent brow, aquiline nose, and defined jawline — are rendered with considerable realism. The laureate wreath, tied with a ribbon at the nape, is clearly articulated. The encircling legend runs clockwise in bold Latin capitals within the beaded border.
