(Translation: Nero Claudius Caesar Drusus Germanicus Imperator. Nero Claudius Drusus, conqueror of the Germans, supreme commander (Imperator).)
Reverse description A monumental triumphal arch is depicted in three-quarter perspective, its attic surmounted by an equestrian statue of the honoured general facing right, the rider brandishing a spear in his raised right hand. Flanking the arch on each side stands a military trophy composed of captured arms and armour, at the base of each of which crouches a bound barbarian captive, symbolising the subjugation of the Germanic tribes. The composition is bold and architecturally precise, conveying the grandeur of Rome's commemorative monuments. The abbreviated reverse legend appears in the field, referencing the conquest of Germania.
