Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Domitian facing right, with short beard, the neck draped, rendered in the naturalistic Flavian portraiture style. The emperor's effigy is depicted with characteristic strong facial features and a prominent brow. The circular legend runs around the periphery of the flan, beginning at the upper right and continuing left. The strike is bold, with the portrait occupying the central field in high relief typical of early Domitianic silver coinage.
