| Obverse description | Laureate head of Domitian facing right, with aegis visible at the neck, rendered in fine high-relief portraiture characteristic of early Flavian coinage. The emperor's facial features are sharply defined, with a strong brow and prominent nose, typical of official Domitianic portraiture. The surrounding legend is incuse in Latin capitals, running clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The portrait occupies the majority of the obverse field, with minimal negative space. The flan shows the characteristic irregular edges of a hand-struck Roman silver coin. |
