Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Domitian facing right, with neck and upper drapery visible, rendered in the naturalistic style characteristic of Flavian portraiture. The laurel wreath sits prominently atop the emperor's head, with individual leaves clearly delineated. The encircling legend runs from lower left to upper right around the portrait within the field. The flan is slightly irregular in shape, as is typical of hand-struck Roman silver coinage of this period.

Obverse lettering IMP CAES DOMITIANVS AVG P M
(Translation: Supreme commander, Caesar, Domitian, emperor, high priest.)
