The PRINCEPS IVVENTVTIS title was a deliberate Flavian political tool — it signaled dynastic succession without granting co-emperor status, a distinction Domitian reportedly resented bitterly throughout Titus's reign.
RIC II.1 1088 is among the scarcer Domitianic Caesar types, minted for less than two years before Titus's death in September 81 elevated Domitian to Augustus.
