Obverse description Laureate head of Domitian facing right, depicted as a young prince, the hair rendered in the characteristic Flavian style with tight curls across the brow. The portrait is executed in high relief with well-defined facial features typical of early Flavian coinage. The circumferential Latin legend encircles the effigy, identifying Domitian by his titles. The flan is irregular in shape, as is characteristic of hand-struck Roman silver coinage of this period.
