| Beschrijving keerzijde | Minerva, goddess of wisdom and war, depicted standing facing left in a martial pose, helmeted and clad in long robes, raising a spear upward in her right hand while a round shield rests at her left side. The figure is rendered in the bold, high-relief style typical of Domitianic silver coinage, with the goddess occupying nearly the full height of the flan. The encircling reverse legend names Domitian's imperial acclamation, consulship, perpetual censorship, and title of Father of the Fatherland. The treatment of Minerva on this series reflects Domitian's particular veneration of the goddess as his divine patron. |
