Obverse description Laureate bust of Domitian facing right, depicted with draped shoulder, the portrait rendered in the vigorous, naturalistic style characteristic of Flavian imperial coinage. The emperor's effigy is boldly modelled with pronounced facial features. The encircling legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the obverse field, naming Domitian's principal imperial titles. The flan is slightly irregular in form, as is typical of hand-struck Roman silver coinage of this period.
