Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Domitian facing right, rendered in high relief with strong portraiture characteristic of Flavian die engraving. The laureate wreath is rendered in detail across the emperor's brow, with individual leaves clearly articulated. The bust is truncated at the shoulder and shows aegis or paludamentum drapery. The encircling legend in Latin capitals runs from lower left around the periphery of the flan, and the coin exhibits the broad, well-centred fabric typical of Roman imperial silver coinage of the late first century AD.
