| 背面描述 | Minerva, helmeted and draped, standing left in a martial pose, extending her right hand to hold a thunderbolt and grasping a long spear in her left hand; a large round shield rests upright at her left side. The goddess is depicted in the fully armed Minerva Victrix type, one of several reverse varieties employed throughout Domitian's denarius series. The peripheral legend IMP XX COS XIIII CENS P P encircles the field, recording the emperor's twentieth imperatorial acclamation, fourteenth consulship, censorial authority, and title of Father of the Fatherland. The reverse field is plain with no exergual inscription. The engraving exhibits the crisp, high-relief style associated with the Rome mint during the late Flavian period. |
